 McArthur calls on Council Support for Western Victoria Region

Bev McArthur, Member for Western Victoria Region gave notice in the Parliament last week to have the House note the importance of various industries and pursuits to the economy and lifestyle of Western Victoria Region; including the dairy, beef, sheep and wool, pork, fowl and duck, fishing, equine, recreational hunting and shooting, extractive materials, manufacturing and agriculture. 

She also noted the significance to the Region of various volunteer services, including the SES, CFA, Red Cross, CWA, Lions, Rotary, RSL, Op shops, Pony Clubs, Riding for the Disabled, Sporting Clubs, outreach religious organisations, aboriginal community justice panels, bail justices and Justices of the Peace.

Mrs McArthur called on the House in the Notice of Motion to ‘reaffirm its support for the traditional industries and lifestyles enjoyed by the people of Western Victoria Region’.

‘This motion should clearly be supported by all Members of the Council, especially my colleagues in Western Victoria Region comprising Ministers, Tierney and Pulford and crossbench Members, Stuart Grimley from the Derryn Hinch Party and Andy Meddick from the Animal Justice Party’, Mrs McArthur said.
