WHO Knows Who To Blame

Western Victorian beef producers should be disgusted with the outcome of the World Health Organisation’s investigation into the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It has delivered what was expected and intended: nothing.

Under the serious coercion and control of the Chinese Communist Party, the 14 WHO scientists have reached a finding that is outrageous and disingenuous.

Member for Western Victoria, Bev McArthur, said China will be salivating at the suggestion that frozen beef from Australia could be the origin of the virus.

“Communist China has closed the curtain on truth throughout this pandemic.

“It has pointed to everyone but itself for the origin of the virus issue.

“This virus was not evident in Australia – or any other nation China now points to – before it revealed itself in Wuhan and beyond.

“It is a long bow to claim that frozen meat imports from various nations suddenly and randomly all came up with the same virus – and all of it only revealing itself in China.

“Frozen meat doesn’t just go to China – but it was only in China where the virus wreaked its havoc before being spread worldwide via international flights.

“The logic is pretty base and highly questionable.”

She said Victorian beef farmers will be horrified at the findings given Australia’s exports of red meat to China in 2019 were worth about $3 billion, double that of 2018.

A quarter of Australia’s beef exports go to China, but trade has fallen by 30 per cent due to the Chinese bans imposed last year.

South West Victoria alone has almost 40 per cent of the state’s beef cattle. The beef industry across Victoria in 2018-19 had a gross value of $2.37 billion.

“Pointing to Australian beef exports as a possible source of this virus is exceedingly serious for Victorian farmers - and not helped by the coerced outcome from China.

“If China is so innocent in this matter – why did it refuse the investigation and impede its capacity to investigate?

“If it is the victim, it should have wanted immediate and detailed investigation to enable rapid understanding and response to the virus – including an early declaration of a public health emergency.

“Instead, it kept quiet, bought up PPE from other nations, enabled the spread via international flights, silenced and arrested a Chinese doctor and critics who spoke out about the disease in China, censored online communication and created time to muddy the waters, remove or change potential evidence and restrict serious investigation.

“The investigating team was allowed just two weeks research time in China and only four hours in the Wuhan virology institute. The scientists were stopped from talking to journalists.

“Australian farmers have already been whacked by China’s aggressive retaliation in relation to the Federal Government’s push for the WHO investigation.

“This outcome is offensive and designed to heap further damage on Australia, while failing to establish any role China might have played in the escalation of the virus globally.

“Now that this charade is over – the real science needs to be done by credible experts. However, clearly any WHO messages or research could be deemed questionable after this whitewash of an inquiry.”
