CONSTITUENCY QUESTION ON FUNDING FOR WESTERN VICTORIA’S ROADS
My constituency question today is for the Minister for Roads and it involves the recent Federal announcement of $80m of funding for State Roads in Western Victoria Region.
This Federal funding is most welcome and we appreciate the Member for Wannon, Dan Tehan’s advocacy for funding of long overdue State road upgrades across the Region. Roads in the Great South Coast Region carry the vitally needed produce of our $1.8b agricultural sector and many of the roads are in high accident prone areas used by tourists, farmers and transport.
The action I seek from the Minister is to guarantee that the State Government will equally match this Federal $80m.
However, if these critical strategic road works are to be undertaken, this Federal funding needs to be equally matched by this State Government.
